Boating Weather — Privacy Policy

Boating Weather (the “app”) is built to respect your privacy. There are no user accounts, no analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share your personal information. The app has no backend server that stores your data.

Information the app uses

• Location. With your permission, the app uses your device’s location to show conditions for where you are. Your coordinates are sent to our weather data providers to retrieve local forecasts, marine conditions, and tide predictions. Location is used only while you use the app and is not stored on any server we control.
• Saved locations & boat profile. Locations you save and your boat details are stored only on your device. They are never transmitted to us.
• Feedback. If you send feedback, the app opens your email app so you can email us directly. We only receive what you choose to send.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, contacts, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. We do not track you across apps or websites.

Third-party data sources

Weather and marine data come from Open-Meteo and tide predictions from NOAA. Requests include approximate coordinates so these services can return local data. Please review their respective privacy policies.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

Safety notice

Boating Weather is an advisory planning aid, not a substitute for official forecasts or navigation equipment. Always consult the official NWS/NOAA marine forecast and use your own judgment on the water.
