Boating Weather (the “app”) is built to respect your privacy. There are no user accounts, no advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal information. To understand how the app is used and improve it, we use a privacy-focused analytics service that collects anonymous usage information — described below.
To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we use PostHog, a third-party product-analytics service (data processed in the United States). This collects anonymous usage information — which screens you open, which features you use, and app events such as adding a location or a boat — associated with a random identifier generated on your device, not with your name or an account (there are none).
We also enable session replay, which records how the app’s own screens are used so we can find where the experience can be improved. All text you type and all images are automatically masked in these recordings. None of this is used for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. See PostHog’s website for their privacy practices.
We do not collect your name, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising SDKs. The usage information described above is anonymous, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Weather and marine data come from Open-Meteo and tide predictions from NOAA. Requests include approximate coordinates so these services can return local data. Please review their respective privacy policies.
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Boating Weather is an advisory planning aid, not a substitute for official forecasts or navigation equipment. Always consult the official NWS/NOAA marine forecast and use your own judgment on the water.
